Chico State students building ‘tiny house’

Chico State students are participating in a statewide competition to design and build a “tiny house.”

A tiny house is a small home, about 200 square feet, that people are choosing to live in to be more sustainable and environmentally responsible.

Chico State students are in the planning stages of building one of these tiny homes. They’re building it for a contest hosted by Sacramento Municipal Utility District.

The goal is to encourage college students to explore energy conservation, efficiency, green building and solar technology.
