From Air Force to tiny house
For Stephani Luebben, tiny houses have drawn her interest for the past several years as something to do in life after the military.
So when she was forced to take early retirement from the Air Force in December 2013, Luebben had to find her future.
“The saying in the military is, ‘What are you going to do when you grow up?’” Luebben said. “I’m 40-something and it’s like, ‘What are you going to do when you grow up?’ I don’t know.”
Luebben, who was living on the East Coast, moved to a farm house near Hildreth in May 2014 to be close to her family.
Soon thereafter, she purchased 11 windows and a trailer specifically designed for tiny homes from Tumbleweed Tiny Homes in Colorado Springs, Colo.
